Jasmin joined MML in January 2020. She completed her Master of Science in Biological Science at Florida State University.

Her thesis focused on tracking the movements of adult and large juvenile smalltooth sawfish. She is a member of the American Elasmobranch Society and served on their Student Action Committee. Jasmin graduated from the College of Charleston Honors College in 2017 with a B.S. in Marine Biology and a B.A. in Spanish. During her time at the College of Charleston she completed a bachelor's essay constructing the phylogeny of hammerhead sharks using morphological and molecular data. She has interned with the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center, Fort Johnson Marine Lab and FWC Division of Marine Fisheries Management. She is excited to help open doors for other underrepresented minorities to join the exciting field of marine science.
